Kulkarni Consultants was founded by Mr. Subhash Kulkarni in 1981, after more than 12 years of diversified experience in the field of structural and civil engineering. Since then, the company has grown steadily and now enjoys a reputation as one of the leading structural engineering consulting firms in the Southern United States. Since 1970, Subhash Kulkarni has planned and designed more than 800 major civil and structural projects throughout the southern and mid-western United States. These projects include a number of medium-rise and high-rise residential, commercial, and industrial projects, which utilized structural steel, concrete, masonry, and timber. Over seventy-five of these projects have involved renovations to existing buildings in the New Orleans area. His education, at the Indian Institute of Technology and the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, was strongly oriented toward foundation and structural design, involving computer-oriented elasticity problems. In addition to his work within the United States, Mr. Kulkarni also has extensive international experience, including projects in Belize, Tunisia, South America, India, and the Bahamas. He also served as resident engineer for a large British firm, where he oversaw the construction of major projects involving foundation grouting of dams and pile foundations of high-rise buildings. Mr. Kulkarni has taught structural and foundation engineering courses at Tulane University, as well as wind engineering at the Staff College in Battle Creek, Michigan. Mr. Kulkarni has published technical papers in international journals and has presented seminars about his work in national and international forums. He is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and was awarded "Outstanding Civil Engineer - 2003" by ASCE Louisiana Section. He chaired the City of New orleans International Building Code Committee (Foundation). Mr. Kulkarni is a registered professional engineer in the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Colorado, New York, and Georgia. |
